Xiaomi, the chinese tech company just overtook Apple as the world’s third-biggest smartphone seller next to Huawei according to IDC, Counterpoint, Canalys.
Xiaomi was able to regain the third spot for the first time I several years with year-on-year growth of 46 percent. Apple which was previously at the third spot fell by 7 percent year-on-year in the July-September quarter dropping it down to fourth place.
In the three months to the end of September, the company’s shipments hit a record high, with different data pointing at more than 40-percent growth and the number of shipped units ranging between 46.2 million and 47.1 million.
Xiaomi sold 46.5million devices mobile devices which is nearly 5million more than Apple.
Samsung returns to the first spot preceeding Huawei after posting its highest quarterly revenue figures ever. The fifth, sixth and seventh spots go to BBK brands, Oppo, Vivo and Realme.
